Course Brief: This course aims to enhance participants’ competencies in mainstreaming and managing sustainable tourism for local economic growth and poverty reduction. The course covers principles of sustainable tourism, tourism and national economies development, potentials and challenges of pro-poor tourism and its impacts, mainstreaming sustainable tourism in development agenda, sustainable/pro-poor tourism strategies, destination management, resources mobilization and HRD. It also includes case studies, exposure visit and tourism development planning workshop.
